A teacher for over 30 years,  I have recently retired from the classroom and now have time to follow my passions. I love nothing more than to spend time on my allotment growing produce to transform into delicious preserves to share with my family and friends. My Airedale, Coco loves to accompany me to my allotment and looks forward to her walk through the woods on the way.  She is an excellent digger!  If I am not digging and planting you will find me in the kitchen jamming and canning.  Lunch each day is a freshly laid egg from one of my hens free ranging in my garden at home. I am hoping this year to also be able to spread honey on my breakfast toast produced by my bees as I have just set up two hives on my allotment. Honey cake is one of my specialities.

At times throughout the year gardeners, family and friends can often find they have too much produce to eat or giveaway.  With a little planning and minimal equipment,  excess produce can be turned into  gifts and treats that are welcomed by all. By making your own homemade jams, chutneys, jellies and more,  you can preserve the  fruits and vegetables of each season and enjoy them whenever you like.

I am passionate about preserving produce throughout the seasons and teaching others to do the same.

Through my workshops I want to encourage people from all walks of life to make the most of seasonal produce whether it is home grown, bought from a farmer's market or received as a "wind fall" from a friend. I want to show you how easy it is to master the art of home preserving that captures the  essence of the freshest ingredients available throughout the year.

I run workshops throughout the year, using produce that is seasonal and fits with the rhythm of the year. I can accommodate small groups that want to make gifts, wedding favors, or even celebrate a birthday or anniversary.  If you are looking for a different type of "mother and daughter" or hen party experience dates can be booked to make this possible also.
